Ubrique. History and Tradition

Ubrique, a town in Cádiz, is globally renowned for leather goods, thanks to centuries of committed and perfected craftsmanship.

True masters of handmade leather manufacturing, known for their flawless finishing and guaranteed durability.

Ubrique places Spain at the forefront of the luxury leather goods industry, earning the trust of the most prestigious international high-end brands.

The quality and trust inspired by handmade work, attention to detail, and deeply rooted traditions make it hard to compete with Ubrique artisans—even for the highly competitive Asian markets.

We proudly offer one of those exclusive articles made entirely in Ubrique, in collaboration with a true local artisan with 40 years of experience working with exotic leathers like crocodile, snake, lizard, ostrich, and more.

A unique luxury item, handmade with excellent quality and finish, that will give you the feeling of owning something truly extraordinary.

Handmade

The only way to make high-quality artisan pieces, as it has been done for hundreds of years. Using the traditional skills rooted in Ubrique—of immeasurable value.

Nothing has changed—each piece has its own unique pattern. Only then can you begin to create a product guaranteed to be perfectly finished.

Cutting

A steady hand, a well-sharpened 'chavetín', and the skill gained piece by piece—there's no other way…

Stitching

Depending on the product and leather used, stitching is done by hand or with a machine—but always with top-quality thread and techniques that ensure product longevity.

Edge Painting

The edges of products that require painting are finished by hand, with a steady hand and care worthy of a high-level artisan piece. Always using first-class, tested paint.

Final Care and Quality Control

Each product is inspected and checked before being shipped anywhere in the world—for the enjoyment of its new owner and the envy of those who don't yet have one!

Leather Quality

As per Ubrique tradition, we only use leathers and exotic skins specifically rated as first-class. This is the indispensable and non-negotiable foundation of any true Ubrique artisan.

We use only vegetable-tanned leathers, minimizing environmental impact.

Regarding our exotic skins, we clearly state that they come from farms and have been imported and processed under the strict control of relevant authorities, strictly following the CITES Convention.

Colors

The color chart is endless. We always try to keep classic tones in stock while updating our product colors each season according to current trends and customer demand.

For this, we work closely with skilled tanners and leather suppliers, maintaining an ongoing exchange of ideas and suggestions for new colors.
